Millwall’s Academy had a highly successful 2023/24 campaign, marked by notable achievements and progress across various age groups.

Millwall’s youth teams showcased their talent and depth across both the Under 18 and Under 21 levels, highlighting the club’s rich academy setup with impressive silverware triumphs.

Larry McAvoy and Chris Perry’s Under 18 side excelled in multiple competitions, clinching the Professional Development League Cup title and reaching the Semi-Finals of the FA Youth Cup. Their cup run saw them secure victories against formidable opponents like Luton Town, Ipswich Town, and Swansea City in the final, demonstrating their resilience and quality on the field. Although they were narrowly edged out by Leeds United in a thrilling Semi-Final, the team’s performance throughout the season was commendable, with standout contributions from players like Kavalli Heywood, who played a significant role in their goal-scoring prowess.

Meanwhile, the Under 21s, led by Kevin Nugent, secured their second consecutive Professional Development League South Division title. Dominating their league campaign, they finished eight points clear of their closest rivals and scored an impressive 80 goals in 29 matches. Notable victories against teams like Bristol City, Cardiff City, and Watford showcased their strength and potential. Emerging talents such as Chin Okoli, Kamarl Grant, Ra’ees Bangura-Williams, and Tom Leahy further bolstered the team’s depth, indicating a promising future for the club’s first-team squad.

Additionally, Millwall’s Under 14s enjoyed success by defeating Chelsea in the Albert Phelan Cup South Final, although they were eventually defeated by Manchester United in the National Final. This achievement underscores the depth and quality present throughout the club’s youth setup, promising a bright future for Millwall Football Club.
