After averaging 32.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 8.4 assists to lead his team to their first NBA Finals trip since 2011, the 25-year-old was awarded the Magic Johnson Trophy.
Doncic scored 33 points in a close Game 1 victory to set the tone early in the series. After that, he put on another masterclass, defeating Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert with a game-winning three-pointer that saw him score 32 points.
Even though Doncic is only 25, he has already started leaving his mark, so making it to his first Finals looked like a vital first step toward starting to be spoken in the same breath as some of the greatest. It will be just another accomplishment to cross off the list if he can finish the job and win a championship.
The Boston Celtics, who entered the playoffs with the best record in the NBA and easily won the Eastern Conference, will, nevertheless, stand in his way. The Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, dropped just two games on their way to winning the Eastern Conference Finals.
