San Antonio Spurs ready to sign top shooter in 2024 NBA Draft

According to a new rating of the top prospects in the 2024 NBA Draft, the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are both likely to target the same player in Round 1, who also happens to be the best shooter in this year’s class.

Unlike their Texas counterparts, the Dallas Mavericks, who are currently participating in this year’s NBA Finals, the Rockets and Spurs are both unfortunate to have a top-five pick in this month’s draft. While they have the opportunity to select one of the top prospects in this year’s class, this is regarded as one of the weaker drafts in years. That is why both organizations must leave no stone unturned and make sure they make the most of their pick because of the lack of depth in this class. One player who has a chance to be an impact talent at the next level is Kentucky guard Reed Sheppard, and ESPN NBA Draft expert Jeremy Woo believes he will be high on the boards for both the Spurs and Rockets.

Woo appears to be certain that the Hawks and Wizards will not pick him first or second. However, he believes that his market will open up at No. 3 with the Rockets. If he is not taken by Houston, he does not expect to slip below the Hornets at No. 6. The Spurs have the fourth overall pick this month.

Because of the class’s lack of depth, both organizations must go above and beyond to make the most of their selection. Kentucky guard Reed Sheppard has the potential to be an impact player at the next level, and ESPN NBA Draft expert Jeremy Woo believes he will be a top pick for both the Spurs and the Rockets.
