In case you can’t tell, I am in need of a recruiting writer. If interested, send me an email at cornnation@gmail.com.)Nebraska picked up a pretty decent quarterback recruit today as TJ Lateef announced his commitment to our beloved Huskers. Lateef is out of Orange, California, and is listed as a four-star recruit by 247.
247 has him as the 238th best prospect nationally, the 17th quarterback, and the 23rd best player out of California.Lateef chose Nebraska over Arizona, Colorado and Ole Miss, having taken a visit to Nebraska in April.According to On3, quarterback coach Glenn Thomas was the lead recruiter for Lateef.Lateef felt like Nebraska wanted him and it was clear that made a difference.“I feel like a priority for them and that meant a lot to me. Nebraska is somewhere I can live and my parents are comfortable knowing I’ll be out there playing the game I love. But if football doesn’t work out professionally, it’s still a place where you can be set up for life just with how much Husker Nation pours into that team and the city. It’s an incredible culture.“Nebraska made me feel wanted,” Lateef told On3. “The communication was heavy with the coaches since they offered me and they were very consistent. My biggest thing was always to go where I was wanted, and before the official visit they made me feel wanted, then on the official visit, they checked all of the boxes.”
