Angry fans storm astros player Verlander house amidst….

For Astros supporters, Justin Verlander’s most recent disastrous start is the tipping point.

After recovering from a neck injury less than a month ago, Justin Verlander’s play has declined significantly in the last few weeks. The 41-year-old, who was once the most dominant starter in baseball, doesn’t seem to be guaranteed a spot in Houston’s playoff rotation.
Though it’s difficult to see the Astros willingly bench Verlander, the stats speak for themselves. He’s just not at the same level as of now.Verlander had a very bad game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. Joe Espada pulled the plug after he allowed eight hits and eight earned runs in three innings and seventy-five pitches. Only four times did Verlander miss a swinging bat. Since returning from the IL, he has made four starts and has a 9.68 ERA.
The Astros have seen an increasing trend with this. Framber Valdez is a postseason starter who is best left alone. Verlander had been the same for ages. But now he’s very much in the running to lose his spot. Heck, the odds are higher than even that it has been lost already. Ronel Blanco has been unstoppable this season, and Yusei Kikuchi has performed better than expected since joining the team at the trade deadline. Compared to Verlander, even 24-year-old Spencer Arrighetti has a compelling argument.Astros fans go crazy following Justin Verlander’s most recent outburst.Naturally, Verlander’s performance on Sunday night has angered Houston fans. Although it’s difficult to hold the 41-year-old too much responsible given his advanced age and the ailments that have plagued his season, Houston still has a divisional title and postseason run to aim for. Verlander needs to move what might be gone forever as soon as possible. It’s difficult to argue against that assertion. What seemed like a drastic overreaction is now unchangeable reality. Unless Verlander makes a significant improvement over the next several weeks, it is simply not rational to start him in the postseason.
