As part of the transaction, Buffalo will acquire a second-round pick from the Minnesota Vikings in 2025. Along with the electric athlete, Houston will also receive a sixth-round pick in 2024 and a fifth-round pick in 2025. Only one day had passed after Stefon Diggs began his customary shenanigans on social media when the transaction was made.

A fan said on Tuesday, April 2, that Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Bills, was not dependent on Diggs’ production on the field. When Stefon noticed the remark, he said outright, “You sure?” It is unclear if the xweet played a role in the trade, but it does bring closure to a tale that might have lasted too long. Stefon Diggs has been associated with some trouble since joining the Bills.

Following the team’s playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in January 2023, one of the most noteworthy incidents transpired. The WNY team defeated 27–10, which was a devastating defeat. As the game came to a close, Diggs lost it on Allen on the sidelines, allegedly yelling at his quarterback. After that, the former athlete from Maryland bounded out of Highmark Stadium and refused to talk to the media.

Coach Sean McDermott took Diggs’ side after being questioned by the media about the circumstances. After a crushing defeat, he declared that he did not want someone on his squad who “did not hurt.” McDermott remarked, “I would not want a guy who does not hurt.”

The next day, Diggs resorted to social media to apologize for his inconsiderate rant. He said he was disappointed in both the manner and outcome of their defeat. Do you want me to accept defeat? Nope. Do you want me to accept our level of play when it falls short of expectations? Nope. It is simple to critique my response rather than the outcome,” he wrote.

That year, the tension continued into the off-season. Diggs declined to participate in Buffalo’s required minicamp in June, and head coach McDermott stated that he was “extremely concerned” about Stefon’s absence at the time. After that, Allen shared his thoughts on his teammate’s situation. His self-blame was that he could have done a better job of living up to his potential.

“I could be doing more to support this process and help him return here and become the Buffalo Bill that he was destined to be,” Allen remarked.

In the future, Diggs has vanished. The Buffalo Bills lost wide receivers Gabe Davis, Deonte Harty, and Trent Sherfield in addition to Stefon Diggs; according to ESPN, all three of them caught passes for the Bills in the previous campaign. Buffalo signed Mack Hollins and Curtis Samuel in an effort to plug its wide receiver weaknesses. The AFC East team appears to have been duped, so the Bills will need to address more of their concerns in the NFL Draft.

In the meantime, the Texans’ off-season signings have propelled them to the summit of the AFC South. Along with many others, Houston has recruited DE Derek Barnett, LB Neville Hewitt, RB Joe Mixon, CB Myles Bryant, CB CJ Henderson, and DE Derek Barnett. Stefon Diggs’ addition has given standout rookie quarterback CJ Stroud the impetus he needed.
