Amidst the Eagles’ defensive woes, Vic Fangio believes that Bryce Huff is still the starting quarterback.

He discussed the team’s lack of productivity, the need to stop the run, and a few individual performances. He often underlined the necessity for them to perform better, beginning with himself as the leader.
“The teams are playing a lot of three-wide against us, so it’s clear that we’ve played a lot of nickel these last two games.” Thus, playing a significant amount of nickel is a common response for many teams. All we need to do is improve our performance — specifically, my role as a technique teacher needs to be strengthened. IFollowing two games, Fangio stated that no drastic adjustments are required to improve the run defense. He and the coaches should instead focus on improving the players’ technique and discipline.
Nevertheless, Fangio responded immediately when asked if he believed they had the talent to finish it.
When asked about the output of Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, and Jordan Davis, Fangio responded that sacks and pressures won’t happen until the run defense gets better.
“Those won’t be coming until we play the run better.” That’s for sure, and playing the run better is something that we all need to improve on, starting with myself.
Later on, the DC clarified that if the run isn’t being stopped, the offense won’t find itself in a clear-cut passing position. He brought up the fact that the Saints, their next opponent, run boots, max protect play action, and do a fantastic job offensively.
Fangio noticed that the Saints used a lot of the same run scheme that they saw against the Falcons and assumed that, after watching them struggle to stop it on Monday night, they would likely continue to do so.
