Ohio State football team to go back to dominating Michigan

The Ohio State football team has fallen against Michigan in each of the last three seasons. Here are three reasons why the Ohio State Buckeyes will resume their dominance this season.

The Ohio State football program is having a bad run versus its opponent. We haven’t seen a streak like this since the 1990s. The Buckeyes have dropped three consecutive games to Michigan. They have not beaten them since the 2019 season. They didn’t play in 2020 since TTUN cancelled the game.

With what we know currently, the 2021 and 2022 games are marked with asterisks. We know Connor Stallion helped Michigan cheat in those games, and there is no excuse for last year. There was no reason Ohio State should have lost that game. They simply got outplayed.

While Michigan’s national victory will always be marked with an asterisk, it will be the one moment of euphoria for TTUN fans. The Buckeyes are preparing for a national championship push this season. Their future also appears promising. They should go back to beating Michigan.

There are three major reasons why they should start beating them again this year. The first has to do with how good the Buckeyes are this season in comparison to their rival.

Ohio State is better than Michigan this year across the board

Last year, Michigan had a great defense. It had one of the strongest defenses in the country, rivaled only by Ohio State. However, because Ohio State’s offense was not outstanding, they were unable to defeat Michigan’s elite defense. That defense also helped them win the national championship.

That Michigan defense is still good this year, but they lost a lot of talent from last year. Ohio State’s defense, in contrast, got even better. They added Caleb Downs to the secondary, making an already elite secondary even better. It should be the best in the country.

On offense, all of Michigan’s talent is pretty much gone. Their offensive line is decimated and they lost one of the best quarterbacks they’ve ever had. Their top receiver is gone too. Ohio State, on the other hand, had their offense get better at many positions.

They got better at running back with the addition of Quinshon Judkins to pair with TreVeyon Henderson. The offensive line got better with the addition of Seth McLaughlin, although it couldn’t get much worse. Will Howard is a slight upgrade over Kyle McCord at quarterback too.
