audacious picks for the Packers versus the Colts in Week 2 without Jordan Love
Due to an injury sustained in the season’s opening game against the Philadelphia Eagles, star quarterback Jordan Love may not be able to help the Green Bay Packers overcome their 0-1 deficit. Because of a sprained MCL, he is officially questionable for Week 2.
Even though Love’s injury is frustrating, the Packers must go win a game at home against the Indianapolis Colts; they cannot afford to mope around. The Packers will need a lot of other aspects of the team to step up if they are to defeat the Colts, one of the league’s most physically gifted teams. In Week 2 of the 2024 season, as the Packers are probably getting ready to play the Colts without their best quarterback, let’s make some audacious predictions about them. Josh Jacobs signed a big-money deal this summer, and the Packers knew they had their quarterback of the future in place, so they weren’t simply being aggressive in free agency. The Packers felt they could use Jacobs, so they signed him.
Jacobs got 18 total touches for 104 total yards from scrimmage in their Week 1 loss to the Eagles. What happens if he aims for at least twice as much total yardage in Week 2?
Although Jacobs hasn’t had a performance like that since his 2022 All-Pro year with the Raiders, we are aware that he is capable of doing so due of his prior experiences. To do this, Jacobs would likely need to amass at least 120 rushing yards and have a spectacular catch-and-run, but he will likely be given plenty of ball receptions when facing the Colts.
The defense must perform significantly better if the Packers are to defeat the Colts in Week 2. Although the defense saw some shining moments in Week 1’s game against the Eagles, Jeff Hafley’s first season as defensive coordinator ultimately saw too much porous play.
