Ryan Rehkow shock everyone and breaks….

In his debut game, Ryan Rehkow breaks the Bengals’ punting record.

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals offense haven’t been able to get things moving on offense yet in their Week 1 game against the New England Patriots. Two drives have gone by with no first downs. Though it’s early and perhaps things will improve, there hasn’t been much to be enthusiastic about when the Bengals are in possession of the ball thus far.

Fortunately, Ryan Rehkow decided to play.He made history for the team with an 80-yard punt on his very first kick of the game. The fact that BYU’s rookie undrafted free agent Rehkow prevailed in the punting competition this summer was largely due to second-year punter Brad Robbins’ injury, which put him on injured reserve. The Bengals have also struggled at punting in recent years because they haven’t had a reliable punter since Kevin Huber’s retirement in 2022.Hopefully, this indicates what Rehkow will likely do in the future. He has the potential to be a tremendous weapon for the Bengals if he can combine his natural power with some touch.

Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals, who is involved in a lengthy contract dispute with the team, is scheduled to participate in the team’s first game on Sunday against the New England Patriots.
Due to illness, he had been marked as questionable on the team’s injury report.
Despite the fact that ESPN revealed on Sunday morning that the Bengals and Chase were unable to reach a contract agreement prior to game day, Chase had stated he would make the decision about whether or not to suit up against the Patriots, and he did.Chase missed training camp and the preseason due to the contract standoff, and he only started practicing again on Wednesday. Since he was unable to get into peak game shape, his usage against the Patriots is probably going to be minimal and restricted to crucial plays like third down or in the red zone.Like his former LSU colleague Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, Chase is looking for a contract extension. With a four-year, $140 million contract ($35 million per season), Jefferson completely changed the market, surpassing wide receiver A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles’ $32 million annual salary.
