Shock: Former Alabama cornerback placed on injured reserve by the Ravens

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis is set to miss at least the next four games after being placed on injured reserve by the team on Saturday.

The former Alabama standout suffered a hamstring injury during last Sunday’s 28-25 win over the Dallas Cowboys and was unable to practice this week.

Once a high school star at St. Paul’s Episcopal in Mobile, Armour-Davis could return for the Ravens’ game against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 27, if he’s fully recovered. NFL injured reserve rules require a minimum four-game absence, so he’ll be sidelined for matchups against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 6, Washington Commanders on Oct. 13, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 21.

Armour-Davis started in the Ravens’ 27-20 season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 5, but had seen limited action on defense in the two games that followed, playing just one defensive snap. However, he participated in 54 special-teams plays across three games in the 2024 season.

Now in his third NFL season, Armour-Davis was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Another former Alabama cornerback, Tony Brown, was also listed on Saturday’s NFL transactions report. The Cleveland Browns elevated Brown from the practice squad, making him eligible to play in Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Brown was also elevated for Cleveland’s previous game, where he made his 2024 debut with 22 special-teams snaps in a 21-15 loss to the New York Giants. During that game, Brown recorded two tackles and forced a fumble on the opening kickoff, which the Browns recovered at the Giants’ 24-yard line.
