Tension looms as mathew Stafford attacks jered goff and..

Matthew Stafford’s candid admission about Jared Goff’s taunts eases tension in Detroit.

After spending more than ten years as a player with the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford is well-acquainted with the environment at Ford Field, where he will begin his NFL career in 2024 with the Los Angeles Rams. But many of the stadium’s patrons weren’t exactly grateful for Stafford, as they yelled Jared Goff’s name as the Rams emerged from the tunnel ahead of kickoff.
After the Rams’ 26-20 loss to the Lions, Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press questioned Stafford about if he had gone past the chanting for Jared Goff. The former Georgia Bulldogs standout swiftly addressed another query after giving a succinct but clear response.Goff responded, “Yeah, I am,” (h/t Jeff Riger).
Because the two quarterbacks were traded for each other back in 2021, Stafford and Goff will always be associated. Stafford, who tossed for 4,886 yards and 41 touchdowns with 17 interceptions in the 2021 season, helped the Rams win a Super Bowl in their first season together.
However, on Sunday, Goff and the Lions defeated the Rams. Against the Rams, Goff completed 18 of 28 passes for 217 yards and a score along with an interception, while Stafford completed 34 of 49 passes for 317 yards and a touchdown along with a pick.
