Fabrizio Romano has recently provided a significant update regarding Nuno Espirito Santo’s career.

The Reds spent only 12 days in the Premier League’s bottom three this season. Despite a four-point deduction, they managed to achieve their goal of staying up. Nuno Espirito Santo took over from Steve Cooper in December and successfully guided the club to safety.

This morning, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared updates on Espirito Santo’s future, indicating that the club is planning discussions with him soon. Romano noted, “The Portuguese manager will discuss with the club soon in order to decide the next steps, but there’s a chance he could leave Forest.” Espirito Santo has averaged around 1.15 points per game and secured six Premier League victories during his time at Forest.

Forest should give Cooper replacement chance to truly prove himself

This decision by Nottingham Forest to make a change would be quite surprising. Nuno Espirito Santo has successfully secured Premier League status for another season. Forest currently needs stability, and Nuno’s experience as a top-flight head coach provides just that. At 50, he should be given the opportunity to build the team according to his vision. Opting for another reset doesn’t seem logical at this point.

Forest must consider whether there is truly a better option available to replace Espirito Santo. Given that the team finished 17th in the Premier League, attracting a top-tier manager might be challenging. For now, Nuno has proven capable, and he deserves the chance to lead Forest to greater heights in the 2024/25 season.
