Regarding the ‘top-class’ Morgan Gibbs-White, Marlon Harewood thinks Nottingham Forest may benefit from the transfer rumors.

Gibbs-White has become one of the Premier League’s best midfielders and earned his first England cap in September. He was suspended for Monday’s match against Crystal Palace. The 24-year-old has been linked to moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle in the last 12 months, but Harewood, a lifelong Forest supporter, is hoping he stays at the club and becomes a legend.

Speaking at the Copa del Cure Leukaemia competition at St George’s Park, Harewood remarked, “He is a top class player and has played really well the last couple of years.”

The fact that the players they have acquired have performed so well and are in high demand by other teams is positive for Forest because it indicates that they are succeeding.

I would hate to see him leave Forest, a club that holds a special place in my heart, therefore I hope he can stay. It is up to him if he wants to transform himself.

“I hope he stays as long as possible and keeps contributing to the club’s success.”

Gibbs-White, the conductor-in-chief, and striker Chris Wood have forged a strong partnership, with Gibbs-White providing about 25% of Wood’s goals in the 2023–24 campaign.

Similar to Wood, Harewood, a former Forest fan favorite, moved clubs during his career, but he can see that this match is ideal for both the team and the individual.

“Throughout his career, a player like Chris has loved scoring goals,” Harewood remarked.

“I was certain he would do it. He’s performed incredibly well, and I’m very happy for him. He also seems to be having fun playing football.

Players switch teams, and he has clearly moved to Forest, where it has worked out well for him. He scores goals because he is having fun playing football. Chris has demonstrated his abilities, and the hiring process has been excellent.

At the beginning of the season, several predicted that Forest would be relegated, but they have proven their mettle in crucial games, winning away at Liverpool and drawing even with Chelsea.

Harewood, who represents both West Ham and Forest as an ambassador, feels the team has settled into the Premier League and says they should be looking up rather than down.

“The way they’ve started doesn’t surprise me,” Harewood continued. “They’ve performed admirably in their third season in the Premier League. It is evident that the coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, has discovered a fantastic formula for how they want to play and perform.

With sellout audiences every week, the City Ground is a veritable fortress when everyone is playing at their best.

“They want to get started after settling the ship to be in the top flight.”
