Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach, has criticized the prolonged duration of Nottingham Forest’s appeal hearing about their points deduction.
Last Wednesday, the Reds appeared before an independent tribunal to contest their four-point deduction for violating financial regulations. They are still awaiting confirmation about the retrieval of any points.
There is no predetermined timeframe for a ruling to be reached following the hearing, but, Forest had anticipated receiving a decision within a week. Having had the saga hanging over them since January, when they were charged with breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules, Nuno has always been determined to have the case handled as quickly as possible.
“Unfortunately we haven’t heard yet. We are anticipating, but not yet,” he said ahead of Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United.
“It is very difficult. We have been working with this dilemma for a long.
“We all expected the decision to come sooner so we are aware and we know exactly how many points we have. Do we have 30, 29, 28, 27? We need it as fast as possible. These are the stuff the club is dealing with, not us.
“Thirty (points) would be fantastic because this is what the players have achieved on the pitch. I fully agree, it is a mess, they have had enough time.
“It’s a mess, it’s very difficult not only for us but for all the league, especially the clubs that are involved in points deduction. It’s quite difficult to deal with this.”
