Tottenham in 'pole position' to snatch 'Postecoglou player' ahead of Arsenal as FFP 'forces' sale

Morgan Gibbs-White, an attacker for Nottingham Forest, is allegedly set to join Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window.
Throughout the 2023–24 season, the 24-year-old has been an essential member of Forest’s squad, appearing on 33 times across all competitions, tallying four goals and dishing out five assists.

The City Ground is under contract for Gibbs-White until June 2027, although rumors have it that he may leave this summer even if Forest avoids relegation to the Championship.

West Ham United and Arsenal are both rumored to be interested in Gibbs-White, who is reportedly valued around £50 million by his present team.

Nevertheless, Football Insider claims that Tottenham would work to bring the Englishman to North London before the 2024–25 season because they see him as a priority signing this summer.
According to the source, in order to help Richarlison, Spurs reportedly intend to buy a new striker this summer.

Timo Werner’s loan from RB Leipzig is likely to expire at the end of the current campaign, thus Ange Postecoglou’s team must make a decision about him.
Since joining during the January transfer window, Werner has played every game, making nine appearances, tallying two goals and dishing out two assists.

Spurs are reportedly drawn to Gibbs-White because of his versatility; the former Wolverhampton Wanderers player can play a variety of striker positions.

The attacker has made 28 Premier League appearances this season with three goals and five assists. In 71 games in all competitions for his current team, he has managed nine goals and thirteen assists.

Tottenham’s Premier League standing will affect their summer spending plan.
Tottenham is vying for a spot in the Champions League for the 2024–25 season, which would definitely increase their purchasing power in the summer transfer window.

A berth in the European Cup the next season would also enable them to sign a player of a higher caliber, making Spurs an even more alluring option for prospective suitors.

With a game remaining, Tottenham is three points behind Aston Villa in fourth place in the Premier League standings but six points ahead of Manchester United in sixth.

Although finishing fifth is probably enough to guarantee a position in the Champions League for the following season, the North London team lost their most recent match, 3-0, to Fulham.

Spurs will play a home game against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon to wrap out March before playing a London derby against West Ham United the following week.
