Journalist Alan Nixon claims that former Port Vale director of football David Flitcroft is “in the frame” for a top position at Carlisle United.
In March of this year, Flitcroft left Port Vale, a struggling League One team that would eventually lose and drop back to League Two.
The director of football had to bear the brunt of the club’s dismal performance after receiving harsh criticism from some Vale supporters.
Nonetheless, Carlisle is among the people who still have high regard for his efforts at Vale Park.
A head coach and sporting director will be appointed as part of Carlisle’s plans to restructure their off-field operations.
Currently “in the frame” for a senior role, Flitcroft is looking for a boss who enjoys playing attacking football, according to Carlisle.
The League Two standings now have Carlisle sitting a pitiful 22nd.
All eyes will be on Flitcroft’s status as the visiting director when they play a league matchup against Port Vale near Christmas.
