Rangers players who aren’t doing well have been warned by Philippe Clement to accept a competitive atmosphere where winning determines whether they go to “heaven or hell”.
The Ibrox team received a great deal of praise following a string of performances that saw them eliminate Celtic’s eight-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership and temporarily take the top spot in February.
They have been heavily criticized going into this Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts, who are playing well. They have only won two of their last eight games across all competitions, and their hopes of winning the championship are in shambles due to mistakes they made last week while playing away to Ross County and Dundee.
“If you win 10 games in a row, you have more belief than when you lose two times but this is Rangers, this is a club where you always have to fight,” Clement stated.
It feels like you’re going to hell every time you lose a point. That is our world, and it is a nice one. It’s intriguing to observe which players can live that way because that’s another obstacle.

Rangers’ most recent Scottish Premiership game ended in a goalless draw at Dundee, costing them points.
“However, it’s a thrilling place to be since, when you win games and trophies, you can also go to heaven on the other side.
“You cannot go to heaven if you play for a team where winning points is not as significant or if losing points is not a major deal since those aren’t the teams that win trophies. This is something that you must accept.”
The severe scrutiny and criticism Clement has received in the wake of the Rangers’ recent “bumps in the road” are something he feels he can handle.
He remarked, “I know it’s part of the job.” “I have been in this world for over 30 years, and I have had many setbacks both as a player and a manager, so I know what I’m doing in a club. In this club, I am aware of my actions. Together, I am confident that we are headed in the right direction.
The demands of managing Rangers, according to Clement, are not unlike from those of managing his old team Brugge back home.
“Winning, becoming champion, is the only thing that counts,” he stated. But that’s just how I’ve always been. Because I want to win everything, no one can be more critical than me.
“I want to win in every sport, whether it’s basketball, tennis, table tennis, or anything else that everyone who knows me from my childhood knows. I had several arguments with my wife about it, saying that I wanted my kids to have the same mindset as me as I did it with them as well.
“I wanted to win if we were playing a game and they were three years old. You have to accept that this is the kind of mindset that is required in a club like this.
Additionally, it’s because of that that you can succeed, take home awards, and have these life-long thrilling experiences. I love being here because that is what Rangers is all about.”
“The same thing I said in October,” the Belgian responded when asked what advice he would give fans who worry that the upsurge is fading. This team has, in my opinion, improved since October in terms of performance, mindset, and resilience, and they have repeatedly shown this in the last six months.
“It’s there, and they can accomplish it. They have demonstrated it well multiple times. They must repeat that action. I therefore believe that there is a 200 percent chance.”
