In preparation for a busy summer, Rangers’ director of recruitment Nils Koppen and first-team manager Philippe Clement have a number of players out of contract at the end of the 2023–2024 season.
The two have a lot of work ahead of them as the Light Blues attempt to close off the season well, with a domestic triple crown remaining a remote possibility. But going into the last five post-split games, reigning champions Celtic will have other intentions.
Two more Old Firm derbies will take place in the upcoming weeks as the Glasgow giants defeated Hearts and Aberdeen, respectively, to secure a berth in the Scottish Cup Final, which will take place at Hampden Park next month.
Rangers’ option to permanently acquire Oscar Cortes, a Colombian winger, from French Ligue 1 team RC Lens will be considered by Clement and Koppen this summer. Meanwhile, Mohamed Diomande, a January signing, will join the team on a long-term contract.
The present contracts of seven players are about to expire, and decisions will also be made on the futures of Brighton’s Abdallah Sima and Wolves’ Fabio Silva, who are both on loan.
