After Lammers had a difficult first half of the season at Ibrox, Jans signed him on loan from Rangers during the winter transfer window.
Jans is happy with Lammers’ performances at Utrecht, but there is uncertainty about what will happen to the Rangers star when he returns on loan.
Lammers has been linked to returning to the top league after leaving Rangers, but Jans thinks the forward would be better off sticking at Utrecht.
Even while he acknowledges that there are some circumstances outside Lammers’ and the Dutch side’s control, he believes Lammers should cherish the familiarity and comfort of Utrecht like a warm bath.
“However, given my strong belief in him as a striker, I believe that after a year with us, he would be better served to try that other route once more,” Jans stated in an interview with the Dutch publication Voetbal International (via Voetbal Primeur).
I would advise spending some time in the warm bath.
But even so, there are still a lot of variables that neither Sam nor I can control in order to carry on collaborating next year.
That really boils down to two things. Rangers as well as cash.
Lammers has already promised to put his future plans on hold and concentrate solely on his football until the end of the current campaign.
Rangers’ ability to produce success in the Eredivisie will probably make Lammers more appealing to suitors.
