‘Embarrassing’: BBC pundit criticizes one Rangers player live on air despite victory over St Mirren

BBC analyst blasts Fabio Silva as ’embarrassing’ for what Rangers forward did vs St Mirren.

Thompson maintained that Silva already has diving form and should have been booked, claiming that he does not need to continue hurling himself to the ground.

Silva, a Wolves loanee, is swiftly gaining a reputation for diving after being accused of sliding over too readily during Rangers’ 3-3 draw with Celtic and 2-0 win over Hearts.

Thompson expressed frustration on BBC Sportsound [28 April, 13:01]: “He has a booking, it is a dive.”

“He doesn’t have to do it.” “It is embarrassing.”

Fabio Silva labelled “embarrassing” yet again for Rangers v St Mirren

This is not the first time Silva has been chastised for his antics, nor is it the first time the word “embarrassing” has been used to describe one of his performances in a Rangers shirt, and he continues to struggle throughout his loan spell.

Several players, including Hartson and Chris Sutton, have called the Portuguese forward “embarrassing” and “ridiculous” for his recent behavior on the pitch. He has also been accused of diving in Scotland.

Sutton had a disagreement with Graeme Souness over Silva’s reported dive against Celtic, despite the fact that Souness had previously defended the Ibrox loanee.

Rangers

Silva’s notoriety will not only harm both him and Rangers’ image, but it may also jeopardize his chances of receiving a valid penalty later in the season. He’s quickly becoming the boy who cried “penalty.”
