‘Pathetic’ Clement decision in Rangers defeat vs. Ross County is criticized by David Edgar

David Edgar has chastised Philippe Clement for making substitutions too late during Sunday’s (April 14) Rangers loss to Ross County.

The presenter of the Heart and Hand Podcast tweeted on Sunday, calling the Gers manager’s assertion that the Belgian must “take responsibility” for the team’s 3-2 loss “pathetic.”

The Light Blues led 1-0 at the break, but County’s second-half comeback made sure they severely damaged Clement’s team’s hopes of taking home the championship in Dingwall.

“Again, pathetic,” murmured Edgar. “Manager needs to own up to this; it’s too late to make changes.”

When Rangers manager Philippe Clement faced Ross County, he made a mistake.

Rangers had a really poor first half even though they went into the half leading, so perhaps it was a mistake for Clement to leave things alone at halftime.

The fact that the Gers returned to the field early after the interval suggests that their manager was not delighted with their performance.

Given that the Belgian made four changes to the team that drew 3–3 with Celtic, some will argue that he selected the incorrect choice of players in the first place.

It would be disappointing if the Light Blues did not win the Scottish Premiership trophy because they were in command of the game only a few weeks ago, even though Clement has received a lot of acclaim for leading the team back into the title fight.

They still have a chance to win the season and turn things around if they win their remaining games, but after this devastating loss, it will be much harder.
