According to the most recent sources, RANGERS will attempt to finalize the signing of midfielder John Lundstram, a former player for Sheffield United and Everton.

Rangers: John Lundstram contract negotiations 'progressing'

Leicester City, who are now one point behind the Tractor Boys, still have a game in hand. The Tractor Boys have been a breath of fresh air in the Championship this season, currently sitting top of the table with three matches remaining.

To be the first team to do it since Southampton in 2012, Kieran McKenna’s newly promoted team is attempting to make history by becoming the first to go from League One to the Premier League twice in a 12-month period.

To make up for any defensive shortcomings on the field, the youthful head coach has adopted an easy-to-watch style of football that has propelled them to the top goal scorers in England’s second division throughout the 2023–24 season.

For Ipswich Town, winning automatic promotion is definitely not assured just yet. Three potentially difficult games remain for McKenna’s team: away games against Hull City and Coventry City, followed by a home game against Huddersfield Town at Portman Road on the last day.

To add fresh players to the roster, the recruitment department is eagerly anticipating the summer transfer window. The Rangers midfielder Lundstram is one name associated with the team.

Turkish journalist Ezgi Alp claims that Ipswich came asking for the 30-year-old’s signature and are now the favorites to sign him, putting Trabzonspor’s interest in signing the former England U20 international on hold.

Lundstram’s contract expires in the summer, and according to Alp, the midfield player is demanding a salary of £1.7 million, which has also put an end to any possibility of a transfer to Trabzonspor in the near future.

Regardless of whether the team is promoted to the Premier League, this wouldn’t be the worst choice for Ipswich Town. Lundstram may be a huge asset to McKenna’s team because of his extensive experience playing European football with Rangers, the Championship, and the top flight.

The Tractor Boys will just need to pay the Liverpool-born player’s wages of about £32,000 per week because he will be a free agent, making this an inexpensive and risk-free acquisition for the team.
