The Rangers Scott Wright rejoices, but his objective is disqualified due to intrusion
Referee David Dickinson informed Scott Wright that his disallowed goal against Hibs was near because of his big toe, prompting a VAR intervention.
The Rangers winger believed he had scored after David Marshall stopped James Tavernier’s penalty kick, but it was disallowed for encroaching. Wright entered the box a little too soon, causing the technology truck to become engaged. Wright acknowledges that it was a setback, but he says he won’t punish himself for it.
The playmaker didn’t care too much because his team still won handily because of goals from Tavernier, Cyriel Dessers, and Rabbi Matondo that came either side of a strike by Myziane Maolida.
He remarked, “I don’t want to torture myself by looking at it.” “When I asked the referee at the time if it was close, he said that it was.
It’s simply one of those situations. I wanted to add more elements to my game, but that wouldn’t determine how well we performed, so that was disappointing. I have multiple methods that I can support the team.
The fact that we didn’t allow that choice stop us demonstrates the type of team we’re aiming to assemble. The manager wants us to appear like this team.
It’s a little annoying. We believe we’ve scored, the supporters believe we’ve scored, and then we have to wait for VAR. There was a wait for VAR despite the penalty. All that’s required is an attempt to grasp the game’s rhythm.
It obviously breaks it up a little bit, then Tav scores a fantastic goal to put us ahead 1-0. Although we were disappointed to lose the goal right before halftime, the team’s ability to score another goal right before halftime demonstrated its character once more.
“All you want as a player is for these VAR calls to be made quickly. No matter what, human mistake will occur. Whether a referee is using VAR or not, they must make a call in this situation. However, it is also for the stadium’s supporters. They’re holding out. It’s not as though they are aware of what is going on.
“I didn’t realize there was a problem with my goal until after I submitted it. Next, the VAR check appears on the large screen.
It belongs to this category. To be honest, it’s a bit of a lottery. You could certainly name hundreds of them if we investigated every one of these. Regretfully, Saturday didn’t go as planned for me.
Wright shares manager Philippe Clement’s philosophy of not letting his own goal-scoring exploits get in the way of the team’s victory.
“It’s clear that the manager places a high value on everyone pitching in, whether it’s the midfielders, strikers, or defenders. As long as we are scoring, he doesn’t care who does. Regardless of how many points we score, as a team we want to be more clinical.
“You can see how the boss wants us to play; he wants us to score five or six goals if we score four. He wants us to have such sharp tongues. We will constantly strive to make improvements; we will never be content to remain in this position. Our goal is to constantly get better.
