old San Antonio Spurs player Dejounte Murray, who is currently with the Atlanta Hawks, recently thanked his old coach Gregg Popovich on social media. Murray called Popovich his “OG 4 Life” and conveyed his love and admiration for him, even after they were transferred in 2022.

There have been trade rumors involving Murray recently in the NBA. A report from Yahoo! Sports claims that a number of teams are interested in acquiring him before the trade deadline on February 8th, including the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, and Detroit Pistons.

Murray discussed the prospect of joining the Spurs again in a recent TNT interview, saying that Popovich is like a father figure to him. He reiterated his current commitment to the Hawks while also said he would welcome the chance to play for the Spurs once more.

With an average of 21.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game this season, Murray has been playing well. In addition, he has been making effective free throws, field goals, and shots from beyond the arc.

Murray signed a hefty four-year contract extension for $114 million with the Hawks in July. It is projected that he will make $24.8 million in 2024–25 and $26.8 million in 2025–26.
