A Sheffield Wednesday legend advises caution regarding the ‘risky’ potential signing for the Owls.

Sheffield Wednesday legend urges caution over 'risky' potential Owls signing

The Star reported this week that the 26-year-old midfielder, who has been without a club since leaving Reading in December, might interest Sheffield Wednesday. He had spent some time training at Middlewood Road towards the end of the season.

It remains uncertain whether this interest will develop further. While Palmer has advised caution, he also recognizes the positive impact Danny Röhl has had on other players since his arrival in England.

“I think this is a risky signing for Sheffield Wednesday,” Palmer told Football League World. “Ovie Ejaria was seen as a talented player with a bright future, but at 26, Sheffield Wednesday shouldn’t expect to rejuvenate him.

“If he struggled in League One with Reading, then Sheffield Wednesday, aiming for the top end of the Championship, should reconsider making this signing to progress.

“However, considering the players Danny and Chris Powell have managed to improve by the end of the season, this free transfer might carry minimal risk. But is he the type of signing that demonstrates Sheffield Wednesday’s ambition to move forward?”
