Jack Hall signs maiden pro Owls contract - News - Sheffield Wednesday

Highly-rated young Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper, Pierce Charles, has committed his future to the club.

The shot-stopper, who will turn 19 this summer, is highly regarded within the Wednesday camp. Manager Danny Röhl has frequently praised the potential of the former Manchester City youngster.

Although Charles had another year left on his previous contract with the Owls, talks have been ongoing to extend it as soon as possible, similar to the approach taken with Bailey Cadamarteri when he became a regular senior player.

It has now been confirmed that Charles has signed a new contract. The club stated, “Pierce Charles has extended his current contract with the Owls. The talented young goalkeeper signed his first professional contract at Hillsborough in 2022 after graduating from the club’s academy. Charles has now further committed his future to Wednesday, having made significant career strides in S6.”

As of now, the 18-year-old will be the only goalkeeper at the club with a professional appearance by July 1st, when Cameron Dawson’s contract expires. James Beadle has already returned to Brighton & Hove Albion after a successful loan spell at Hillsborough.

The Northern Irish youth international, who has also trained with his nation’s senior team, made his Owls debut in the FA Cup earlier this year, playing both games against Coventry City.
