Danny Rohl names three players he’d love to sign

In an interview with RBlive, Rohl was asked which three players he would hypothetically sign from his former club Red Bull Leipzig. He named Lois Openda, Dani Olmo, and Willi Orban.

Openda, a Belgian international with 16 caps, Olmo, who has 33 caps for Spain along with eight goals, and Orban, who boasts 43 caps for Hungary, are all currently part of Leipzig’s squad.

The Danny Rohl factor at Sheffield Wednesday

Earlier in the season, Sheffield Wednesday welcomed former German international Nico Schulz, who trained with the first team while being without a club. Despite this, manager Rohl later confirmed that Schulz wouldn’t be signed, hinting at Rohl’s potential attractiveness in the transfer market, especially for players from Germany or currently playing there.

With Rohl’s extensive experience at clubs like Red Bull Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Southampton, and the German national team, his contacts list could prove invaluable. The Owls face another squad rebuilding phase this summer, but Rohl aims for a long-term reconstruction.

Having knowledge of top-quality players at elite clubs such as Openda, Olmo, and Orban, Rohl may explore loan signings from his former clubs, considering Sheffield Wednesday’s financial constraints. Nonetheless, the upcoming summer promises intrigue and potential for Sheffield Wednesday.
