Sheffield Wednesday received a boost as a key figure, previously linked with moves to Preston North End and Sunderland.

Sunderland and PNE-linked man signs new deal

In January, Preston North End showed interest in Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Sam Tickle. The 22-year-old impressed in his breakthrough campaign, playing in every League One game for the Latics last season. However, Wigan has now secured Tickle’s future by signing him to a new four-year contract, keeping him at the DW Stadium until 2028.

The Hornets have secured full-back Jeremy Ngakia on a new three-year contract, with a one-year option included. Since joining from West Ham in 2020, the 23-year-old has made 69 league appearances for the club.
