There was never any doubt that Sheffield Wednesday fans would sell out Hillsborough for what proved to be a momentous win over West Brom.

The club revealed before the game vs West Brom that over 33,000 people will be in attendance, with the official attendance coming in at 33,295.

Sheffield Wednesday’s attendance for the game vs West Brom was the talk of many Owls fans on social media during the game.

And the atmosphere was also complimented by BBC Radio West Midlands correspondent Steve Hermon, who posted during the game:

“This is the loudest atmosphere we’ve had at any away ground. They are extremely relentless Sheffield Wednesday but you have to add Albion have been clumsy as well.”

Danny Rohl has one thing that few others do

Danny Rohl remains the hero for Sheffield Wednesday.

Although he has the players to thank for the club’s turnaround in fortunes this season, none of it would be possible if it wasn’t for Rohl and his magic.

And he’s got a great helping hand on various occasions this season, most notably against West Brom; a filled out Hillsborough crowd.

When it’s full, it’s one of the most antagonising venues for an away team to come, as Hermon’s words show.

Despite Wednesday and West Brom being at polarising ends of the table, the Owls came out on top, looking like top six candidates themselves, with the crowd playing a significant part in that.

The Owls continue their season on the road next weekend with a trip to Sunderland who fell 1-0 away at Watford in the Championship on Saturday.

A point versus Sunderland would keep Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.
