A transfer rumor to Rangers from the Eredivisie

During the summer transfer window, rumors about Rangers transfers are always fun to hear.

Every year, we receive a plethora of names from questionable journalists, online forums, group chats, social media platforms, and, on occasion, these rumors can quickly spread up the chain at the buying or selling club due to the nature of the transfer beast.

And it seems like that’s exactly what happened when a well-known sporting director swiftly put an end to a rumor about the Rangers that surfaced on social media.

Hilgers to Rangers assertions are refuted
Before rumors of interest began to circulate on social media over the weekend, Rangers supporters may not have been familiar with Mees Hilgers.

The 23-year-old FC Twente defender made an impression in the Eredivisie the previous year, helping his team to third place in the Dutch first division.

Though we are unable to confirm or refute the rumors at this time, talk of Rangers’ interest in the defender has made its way to the Netherlands thanks to internet rumors.

Arnold Bruggink, the sporting director of FC Twente and a former Dutch international, has even been questioned about the alleged interest, which had not even garnered media attention up until this point.

Bruggink has reportedly stated that, despite Rangers’ potential interest, Ibrox has not yet made any bids, according to Twente Site.

The PSV legend also asserts that he “knows nothing” about the Rangers’ possible interest in the defender.

The internet’s power, huh?
