Liam Rosenior is unlikely to be Sunderland’s next manager,
Rosenior has been one of the top prospects to lead the Championship team.
Hull fired the 39-year-old coach shortly after the season ended due to his team’s failure to make the playoffs.
He has many supporters, however, and is being contacted about a possible immediate return.
In May, talkSPORT reported that he had rebuffed an approach from Plymouth.
Rosenior is then thought to have made preliminary discussions with Sunderland about their vacant position.
The Black Cats are looking for their next permanent manager after Michael Beale was fired in February, with Mike Dodds serving as caretaker for the remainder of the season.
However, talkSPORT understands that Rosenior is unlikely to be their next manager.
Sunderland have already viewed the top target. Will still join Lens, with informing you in May.
Another challenger, Pascal Jansen, has also been eliminated from the competition.
Rosenior might still return to the Championship dugout this summer.
