Jack Clarke looks set to make Sunderland a lot of money

Jack Clarke for Sunderland

If January is any indication, Sunderland is likely to receive significant interest in Clarke, and now might be the ideal time to sell.

With his contract running until 2026, Sunderland could get a good price for him now, avoiding the risk of having to sell for less next summer if his value decreases.

Clarke’s stock is high at the moment, and another poor season for Sunderland could lower his market value. Sunderland’s decision to cash in on the 23-year-old could also help them address their need for a shot-stopper.

In January, clubs such as West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Brentford showed interest in Clarke, and Italian giants Lazio were reportedly keen to bring him to Serie A.

This summer, West Ham remains interested, while Brentford and newly-promoted Southampton are also eyeing the attacker, who is likely to command a fee in the region of £15-20 million.

Although Spurs will receive a portion of the transfer fee, the remaining funds could be reinvested to strengthen the squad under new boss Regis Le Bris.
