A new name has been added to Sunderland’s summertime management shortlist.
Following Michael Beale’s dismissal from Sunderland last month, Mike Dodds took over as manager until the summer.
It sparked the hunt for a new, long-term manager, with Lee Johnson, Alex Neil, Tony Mowbray, and Beale slated to be the future owner of Kyril Louis-Dreyfus.
With eight games remaining, the Black Cats are now in 12th place in the Championship and would like to snap their seven-game losing streak in order to allay concerns about possible relegation.
Off the field, though, Louis-Dreyfus and Kristjaan Speakman might be thinking a lot about their next manager.
Which managers Sunderland has been connected to thus far
The first and most likely name associated with Sunderland is Will Still, the manager of Reims.
After Mowbray was fired by Sunderland last year, he was connected to the position, but he is still in France and is still making an impression.
Other names connected are former Swansea City and Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper, as well as Polish coach Marek Papszun.

At 34 years old, Rohl is the youngest manager in the Football League.
Danny Rohl might be the ideal addition to Sunderland.
It is obvious that Sunderland wants a younger manager who will both represent and perhaps enhance their playing group.
But he has also demonstrated his versatility with Sheffield Wednesday.
Despite having a fairly mediocre playing group, he has led Sheffield Wednesday—who were winless prior to his arrival this season—to 12 victories in 30 games.
Wednesday has made a comeback by playing some incredibly audacious and thrilling football, and they are currently only one point from safety.
Sheffield Wednesday has showing itself to be a strong defensive squad in addition to being an extremely effective attacking unit.
With the exception of their most recent 6-0 loss to Ipswich Town, the Owls had won four of their previous seven games.
Additionally, Rohl now has some Championship experience—albeit not much—so he may be more desirable than someone like Still given his familiarity with the rigors and demands of the second tier.
The German might surprise everyone by winning the Sunderland management position.
