Teddy Swims, in brief

Five years ago, Teddy Swims was known as a country and rock vocalist on YouTube, covering artists like George Strait, Marvin Gaye, Amy Winehouse, and Michael Jackson. His solo work earned him a deal with Warner Music during the early days of COVID-19 quarantine. Since then, his rise to fame has been fueled by mainstream releases and collaborations with a variety of artists, including Thomas Rhett, Maren Morris, Meghan Trainor, and Tiësto. He’s now a multi-platinum artist with Billboard Hot 100 success and over a billion Spotify streams.

Teddy Swims shared with MTV that when he recorded and released “Lose Control,” he had a strong sense it was “going to change his life.”

He explained, “We were aiming for something that gives you the same vibe as Chris Stapleton’s ‘Tennessee Whiskey.’ There’s this one intricate vocal run that really hooks you right from the very first line.”
