The Beatles’ ‘Abbey Road’ Drives Back Onto The Billboard Charts
The Beatles often appear on the Billboard charts in America with at least one project. Even to this day, the group is still selling albums and racking up millions of streams every week, which help them maintain a presence on various rankings. Usually, the band takes up space with one of their popular compilations, as these collections contain most of their biggest hits. This time around, however, it’s one of their traditional full-lengths that keeps them on the weekly tallies.
Abbey Road is back yet again, as Americans continue to buy the classic. The Beatles’ blockbuster returns to a pair of charts this period, as sales of the title increase substantially.
The Beatles reappear on the Vinyl Albums chart with Abbey Road this week. The set re-enters the race at No. 23, at the tail end of Billboard’s list of the top-selling titles on that one format in the U.S.
The same studio effort can also be found on the Top Album Sales chart as well. That tally, which is focused on the bestselling projects of any style, length, or on any format, features 50 spots, and The Beatles narrowly find space on the roster. Abbey Road is back at No. 45 this time around.
In the past tracking frame, Abbey Road sold another 2,300 copies, according to Luminate. That’s up more than 42% from the frame prior, when The Beatles’ smash success was purchased by 1,600 fans across the U.S.
Abbey Road has already reached No. 1 on both the Billboard charts it reaches again. The set has managed just under 300 frames on the Top Album Sales list, and it’s approaching 500 turns on the vinyl-only roster—a number it may reach in the coming months.
Sales of Abbey Road have increased recently, in part, as fans celebrate the album’s anniversary. The title was officially released in America on October 1, 1969, which means it just turned 55 years old. These milestones can sometimes be honored by fans of the group with a return to stores and download platforms, especially if any special editions are shared.
