Consistently in the forefront, “Perfect fit”: Ipswich Town  defeated Southampton and Leeds United in order to reach a deal with West Ham.

Ben Johnson, a defender for West Ham United who is scheduled to depart the team when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign, has been linked to Ipswich Town.

Since January, Johnson has attracted the attention of elite Championship contenders. The Daily Mail first revealed that Leeds United was interested in signing him.

According to a recent Daily Mirror article (page 74, paper edition dated April 21, 2019), Southampton and Leeds are competing with Ipswich to sign the defender who will shortly be out of contract.

According to Carlton Palmer, who spoke with Football League World, the 24-year-old wouldn’t want to join a lower division team and would be better off joining the Tractor Boys should they advance.

Ben Johnson West Ham

He is capable of playing both left and right back. He’s superior to our available right-backs right now. If we can hold onto him, he could provide Davis with a solid left-side backup.

“He is a somebody with exceptional experience. The links do intrigue me; he’s quick, competent with the ball, and a strong defender.

It might also be available for free, which would be beneficial for the FFP in the future. This would be yet another outstanding business venture if Ashton and company can convince Johnson to sign on.”

Ipswich would be wise to sign Ben Johnson.

Ben Johnson for West Ham-3

It’s admirable that Kieran McKenna is prepared to take on guys who have had a difficult time in their Premier League careers. Of course, Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams, two players he worked with at his former position, are two instances of it, but the premise still stands.

Even though Kieffer Moore is older than the other two, you might make the case that he falls into this group.

Although Williams’ move hasn’t gone so well, Tuanzebe and Moore in particular have settled in under the Northern Irishman, and these situations are excellent models for someone like Johnson who will be determining their next course of action.

Although his statistics indicate that he has struggled for opportunities this season, the full-back has demonstrated in the past that he is at least a capable full-back in the top flight.

If Town were to get promoted, bringing in someone like Johnson would be a very wise move. The 24-year-old may have a similar effect to how Luton Town signed Ross Barkley in the summer following their promotion—he would give the team experience in the Premier League that the other players do not.
