Birmingham City star breaks silence amid transfer uncertainty
Sanderson hasn’t let anything stop him, despite a terrible season in the Championship that saw them fall to the English third division for the first time in almost thirty years. The captain wants to assist Blues in making a quick recovery.
Sanderson also wants to atone for his own mistakes, which include an off-field incident that sparked a lot of criticism. The incident occurred following Birmingham’s 3-0 victory over Coventry City, and the 24-year-old was brought before the court on a charge of drunk driving. It’s time to make amends now.
Posting to Instagram, Sanderson said: “Hello Bluenoses, I haven’t been on social media for some time now. I felt it was important for me to take a step back and reflect on these past few months. It’s been tough to deal with as a player, a captain and as a person.
“To all of you, I sincerely apologize for the errors I’ve made, both on and off the field. My house is in Birmingham City. Being able to represent this football team and experience the love and support of the supporters from the moment I go into the stadium until I leave is an honor.
“I’m eager for the season to start and I’m looking forward to getting back to work with much more focus, hard work and resilience. I have no doubt that we’ll overcome this setback together and get the club moving back in the right direction again.
“Hope to see you all very soon and most importantly, thank you. Your support has been incredible. KRO,” Sanderson said.
