Derby County talent Dajaune Brown was sent on loan to National League side Gateshead last season, and impressed during his four-month period in the north-east

The striker went on to make four more appearances for Derby as a substitute last season including making his League One debut in a 4-0 win against Northampton Town.These efforts afforded the 18-year-old his first start against Dagenham & Redbridge where he scored once again, for the third consecutive game, what proved to be the matchwinner in a 1-0 victory.He finished the league campaign with an impressive six goals in 18 games as he helped guide his club to a playoff spot.However, the Tynesiders were cruelly denied a spot in the play-offs as their stadium, which is owned by the Borough Council of Gateshead, does not meet the relevant qualifying criteria to enable the club to become a Member of the EFL.

Brown, originally from Nottingham, came through the Derby County academy where he was a prolific goal scorer for the Rams’ UHe made his first-team debut this season in a 2-0 EFL Cup defeat vs Blackpool at Pride Park, where he played 17 minutes off the bench as a substitute for Conor Washington.
