According to Transfermarkt, Eintracht Frankfurt is targeting former Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, who will leave the Spanish giants as a free agent after 14 years.
Roberto, 32, is attracting interest from several European clubs, including Ajax, Fiorentina, AS Monaco, and Sevilla. However, he has not yet reached an agreement with any team and would need to accept a lower salary than he earned at Barcelona.
A key advantage for Frankfurt is Roberto’s preference to avoid another Spanish club, which might exclude Sevilla from the competition. With Dino Toppmöller seeking a replacement for the departed Sebastian Rode, Frankfurt could be well-positioned to finalize a deal with Roberto, who is expected to make a decision soon.
