Hearts supporters reacted negatively to pictures and videos of a Rangers crest sticker over the Hearts logo that appeared on social media; Rangers won the Sky Sports Cup at Tynecastle after defeating Partick Thistle 4-1.
Following the Rangers insignia being affixed over their logo in the Tynecastle home dressing room during the Sky Sports Cup final, Hearts have sought “answers.”
Fans of the Jambos reacted negatively when videos and pictures of a Rangers crest sticker placed over the Hearts logo appeared on social media.
Hearts said that in order to “make sure that our club crest is never defaced again,” they will “demand answers” from the Rangers and the SWPL.
“Heart of Midlothian Football Club is aware of images circulating of the Tynecastle Park home dressing room at today’s Sky Sports Cup Final,” the Edinburgh-based team stated in a statement. We were involved in pre-match planning even though the club gives the tournament organizers, the SWPL, control over stadium operations on game day.

“As a result, we would like to reassure our supporters that we have not approved any requests for branding in the changing rooms of the participating clubs. Finding out that our wishes were ignored is really upsetting.
“The Rangers and the SWPL should handle this situation, but it goes without saying that neither our fans nor we will accept any explanation as to how this happened.
“However, in order to make sure that our club crest is never vandalized again, we will demand answers. Furthermore, it is unfortunate that this action has deflected attention from a successful cup final and another chance to advance women’s football in Scotland.”
