“Sensible” Amid the current absurd Dundee pitch, Philippe Clement sets forward a “logical” answer.

Who would have guessed that the surface at Dens Park in Dundee would cause such anxiety during Rangers’ championship match against Celtic?

The condition of the pitch at Dundee’s stadium, where Rangers plays in the Scottish Premiership, forced the team to postpone their match before the international break.

This resulted in a change in dynamics at the top of the Scottish Premiership, when Rangers and Celtic drew 3-3.

Rangers could have led the league by two points going into the match if they had defeated Dundee, but the postponement meant that Celtic went to Ibrox as the leaders.

Philippe Clement is shocked that less than twenty-four hours before kickoff, Rangers’ match against Dundee is still in jeopardy.

Smoke from Philippe Clement at Dundee’s surface

The Rangers manager has criticized Dundee for their pitch, saying that the incident reflects poorly on Scottish football as a whole.

The direct-talking Belgian talks about a fair and balanced game, but he has made it plain that Dundee’s pitch is ruining his preparations.

The problem is still ongoing, and in his irate remarks, Philippe Clement portrays Dundee as a two-bit operation.

“It is an absurd circumstance,” Clement remarked. “To go to a top league that you were unaware of the day before. We are going to fly there in a half-hour or an hour, and we will be staying in a hotel. You are not sure if the game is scheduled for tomorrow or not.

That is a really strange circumstance, then. Okay, it can occur in exceptional cases, but I do not believe it has occurred in any of the elite leagues in the last few years.

“However, there are issues whenever it rains in Scotland these days, even though there are typically plenty of sunny days there. This is bad news for the league and for Dundee as well.”

Clement responded, “I do not know because I have not seen the pitch, I have not been on the pitch,” when questioned about worries regarding player safety.

When we went there the last time, it was evident that it was unsafe for players and unplayable for both teams.

“So I will see if there is another situation now, and in the end, the referee makes the decision—not me.”

When pressed for more details regarding his hopes for a speedy resolution, Clement said, “Of course, I want the decision today because you want to prepare games.”

However, the federation and the clubs are in agreement on that point. Of course you want, not just for us because you want to prepare games. If that is not possible, you want to see what the other option is, and if it is not doable, you need to find an other option somewhere. We are running out of time since the league is splitting next week. That makes sense as well.

“You want to play as quickly as possible and have an alternative, but you also need to be ready. Thus, in my opinion, these issues severely damage the league’s reputation, and they must be resolved going forward so that they may no longer happen.

In response to the question of whether he would feel at ease playing on a neutral field, Clement said, “Yes, I think in these circumstances it can be a logical choice.”

Rangers await the evaluation of the pitch.

What is the current state of Dundee’s pitch in advance of the Rangers game?

John Nelms, the managing director of Dundee, has stated publicly that he is “confident” the game will proceed.

The American director also thinks that the game should be moved even farther ahead to the following week, so that it takes place following the Rangers’ weekend trip to Ross County.

That would still allow for a match between the two clubs before the Scottish Premiership has to be divided.

This surface may have plenty of time to recover given that Dundee is visiting Aberdeen over the weekend.

The match is still uncertain as of right now; at 11 a.m., a pitch inspection will be held to ascertain whether it will go.

As a result, Rangers could have to wait to take the top spot in the Scottish Premiership again.

Philippe Clement injury update sounds potential Ryan Jack Rangers career death knell

SL Benfica v Rangers FC: Round of 16 First Leg - UEFA Europa League 2023/24

Jack came to Rangers from Aberdeen in 2017, and he has occasionally demonstrated his undeniable talent in the midfield at Ibrox.

Injury misery kept Ryan Jack out of the Euro 2020 squad, and it appears to have hurt his chances this time around at Euro 2024 as well. Ryan Jack was a fixture in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad as well.

We genuinely feel bad for Ryan Jack, a midfield player who has made 210 games for Rangers and has greatly contributed to the team. It is a great shame for him.
