Sunderland has teased their 2024-25 hummel shirt release date on social media. June 24, 2024 admin SUNDERLAND AFC 0 Sunderland have announced the launch date of their new home kit via social media. Earlier this year, the Black Cats confirmed hummel as their new kit partner, effective from July. This eagerly awaited partnership follows the club’s decision to seek a new agreement after their deal with Nike and the Just Sport group, a move that has pleased many fans. Sunderland and hummel have signed an initial five-year partnership, described as a multi-million-pound agreement and one of the biggest commercial deals in the club’s history. Hummel has a notable history with the club, having designed some of their most iconic kits, including the FA Cup final kit in 1992. As part of the deal, hummel released a retro range featuring two legendary products previously unavailable to supporters: the 1992 FA Cup final walk-out jacket and the 1993-94 yellow third shirt, both of which sold out quickly online and in-store. This has heightened anticipation among supporters on social media regarding Sunderland’s new home and away shirts for the 2024-25 season, with fans posting mock-ups of the kit online. The club has now confirmed that the new hummel home shirt will be unveiled on June 28. Sunderland’s new chief operating officer, David Bruce, recently told The Echo that fans can expect a significant impact from hummel’s first designs later this summer. Bruce, who played a key role in negotiating the deal with hummel, stated that the three kits for next season will be fully bespoke, emphasizing the importance of details to supporters. Bruce highlighted the collaborative process with hummel, which involved understanding the club’s and the city’s heritage and incorporating significant moments into the designs. He emphasized that the new kits would be custom-made to reflect the area, the club, and its connection with the fans. Bruce remarked, “In the space of 12 months, we’re going to have a fully bespoke collection from top to bottom that really speaks to the area and football club. The process has been really collaborative. They come in, find out what we’re looking for, we give them the brief and talk about the area and particular seasons.” He added, “This year we have a number of kits that are built off a moment in time or something significant to the city and its connection with the club. They look at those creative territories and then they bring that to life with the kits. You’ll see in intimate detail very soon what we mean by that through the home, away, and third jersey.” Bruce concluded by acknowledging the fans’ passion for the kits, stating, “As a fan, there’s no more intimate thing you buy than a kit. We don’t take that for granted. We have to obsess over the details and what fans care most about.” GET MORE NEWS HERE David BruceSunderland AFC
