‘Unbelievable’ 33-year-old must be signed by Sunderland on a free agent if Heckingbottom is hired.

Sheffield United: Heckingbottom linked with swift return to management

If Sunderland hires Paul Heckingbottom, they will have to sign this “unbelievable” Sheffield United star.
This summer, Sunderland might require a few replacement players.
In addition to Jack Clarke, Sunderland has numerous additional players that are drawing interest from the Premier League.

This season, Pierre Ekwah and Dan Neil have drawn attention, and Trai Hume is now being pursued by Aston Villa and a number of other teams.

However, Anthony Patterson appears to be another potential departure.
According to sources, transfer analyst Graeme Bailey has predicted that Patterson will depart Sunderland this summer, and the Black Cats might fetch up to £20 million in compensation.

Sam Tickle, a goalkeeper for Wigan Athletic, has been mentioned as a possible replacement, but he might not have the necessary experience to compete in the Championship.

This week has seen a significant development regarding the Sunderland management.Prior to the summer, it has been disclosed that Paul Heckingbottom, the former manager of Sheffield United, is at the top of Sunderland’s list.

Heckingbottom’s departure from Sheffield United earlier this season seems to have put him ahead of players like Will Still and Danny Rohl in the competition for the Stadium of Light bench.
Heckingbottom is rumored to be open to accepting the Sunderland position this summer.
This summer, Paul Heckingbottom has to sign an ally with Sheffield United.

One thing that Sunderland really needs to add this summer is veteran players.

Fortunately, Sheffield United has a number of seasoned players whose contracts expire this summer, should Heckingbottom be hired by Sunderland

After a few inconsistent seasons, the Blades are headed for a summer makeover, and a number of players may depart.

It will undoubtedly notify Championship and possibly even Premier League clubs, as well as Heckingbottom should he accept a new position in the off-season.

Wes Foderingham, the goalkeeper, is a player that Sunderland would be more interested in seeing than the others.
The 33-year-old, who Heckingbottom himself called “unbelievable,” has been one of the Blades’ few bright spots this season; according to Sofascore, he is the player with the third-highest average ratin

Even more impressively, Foderingham leads the Premier League in save totals for the current campaign.

The Blades achieved promotion last season, and Foderingham, who made 40 appearances in the Championship, allowed just 32 goals while keeping 18 clean sheets, is undoubtedly a proven player.

He has proven in the top two leagues that he is a reliable goalkeeper, and Heckingbottom has complete faith in him.

In addition, the Englishman has 450 career appearances under his belt, making him a very experienced player.

If Heckingbottom is signed by Sunderland and Foderingham is released by Sheffield United, it would be a very wise move for Wearside to acquire Foderingham.

The primary consideration here, though, is whether Patterson departs, which is still up in the air.
